At the heart of counselling there may lie a problem with many strands that need time to be unravelled and a companion to assist the unravelling. When someone comes into counselling, it can also often be with a long term and painful problem, maybe one that they have carried for many years.
The hardest part is often that very first step, acknowledging the problem. It takes courage to be real about your own personal issue. This is where the healing starts. Just bringing the issue from where it might have been in darkness out into the light is in itself a powerful dynamic.
The first session, which is free, and entirely without obligation, gives us the opportunity to meet each other and see if we would feel comfortable working together.
